Loving the newly discovered drawing app called 53 for iPad. Such a cute interface with a library of sketch books and some lovely tools, which are pretty easy to master.
I’m slowly getting there..! Discovered graphic styles, clipping masks, offset paths and the wonderful blob brush! A few more tutorials and then it’s time to look at creating some designs of my own…eeek! If you fancy a go you can find the tutorial here. Enjoy
For most crafters and bloggers, getting the right look and feel to their blog is often just as important as the content of the posts. However for some crafters, especially myself, delving into the world of digital design can be somewhat daunting and often produce unsatisfactory blog headers (certainly my own). Luckily having a best friend as a graphic designer comes in rather handy (watch this space for my exciting re-brand).
This got me thinking, how fun would it be to have a bash at the digital arts and see if I can incorporate it into my crafting? With the handy help of a tub of gel medium it’s pretty easy to transfer designs onto wood, material, stone etc…however up until now i’ve only used this for typeface and the odd image, shamefully ripped from google.
My adventures in Adobe Illustrator have got so far as completing a very basic tutorial as pictured below.
Luckily the use of the ‘infamous’ pen tool was very limited, in fact the only part you use it for is the hair believe it or not! I’ m certain there will be many more delightful creatures to come and I am excited to see how I can incorporate these into my crafty ideas.
