The Magic Circle – The Foundation of all great Amigurumi
The ‘magic circle’ is one of the greatest skills to have under your belt when you’re crocheting amigurumi. When you’re starting a traditional circle most patterns will simply tell you to chain 3 and then start your foundation row (6) into the second chain from the hook. This method always leaves you with a little hole which is unsightly and usually requires additional stitching at the end to tidy it up. There are many tutorials on the magic circle however I think this video is one of the best ways to explain this fantastic technique. Once you’ve mastered it you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it…happy hooking!
